Boyne Resorts is seeking an individual passionate in the design and construction industry.  If you are passionate about design, hardworking, talented, ambitious, a team player, and courageous with your creativity and dedication, look no further!  We are looking for a candidate that enjoys the hospitality industry and can ensure the quality and accuracy of the instruments of service, understands building codes and regulations, and is readily able to coordinate documentation between all disciplines. This candidate is a leader and thoroughly understands the construction administration process. They love being in the field and can ensure projects are being built per plan and standards are being upheld.


The design team is committed to creating an unforgettable experience with dynamic and innovative designs. The portfolio of resorts provides for a wide range of project types. Projects can range from hotels and restaurants to spas and fitness centers as well as privately owned real estate. As the design studio continues to elevate design we also seek ways to contribute to Boyne’s sustainability goals and the Forever Project.


This is a Full-Time Year-Round salaried position. Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.
  • Coordinate field surveying of existing spaces.
  • Highly organized and able to set and communicate project milestones to the team
  • Create detailed construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with consultants and engineers to ensure the project elements are coordinated.
  • Make frequent site visits throughout construction, monitor contractor progress, and address questions that may arise during the construction process. Must ensure standards are being upheld.
  • Report on site development to the design team.
  • Review in collaboration with the Director of Design all documents to ensure they meet design intent, client’s needs and visions.
  • Work with the Director of Design to review scope, schedule, budget, staffing needs, and project milestones.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and/or consultants; speak clearly and persuasively, write clearly and informatively.
  • Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative.
  • A team player that is able to work autonomously as needed.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a desire to perform at a high level.


  • 8-12 years of professional work experience
  • Bachelor’s (required) and/or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture, and licensure
  • LEED AP a plus
  • Significant working experience in the field, a construction background a plus
  • Ability to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership.
  • Ability to produce fully coordinated sets of drawings
  • Holds an experienced understanding of accessibility, building & life safety codes, zoning, and planning regulations.

Software experience:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Proficiency with Google Sketch-up.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative suite of products.
