Sugarloaf is looking for a team-oriented individual with strong leadership and supervisory skills to take on the role of Grooming Manager for our coming winter season. The Grooming Manager provides a high quality skiing surface by overseeing the operations, hiring, and supervision of the grooming department. This role must also problem solve issues to ensure a safe and efficient workplace. This full-time seasonal role is eligible for an end-of-season bonus and has the possibility of becoming a full-time, year-round position for the right candidate.   • Schedule and direct the grooming team
  • Responsible for product control (grooming surfaces to meet expectations)
  • Train staff and spend time on-hill with staff to ensure snow surface quality and that expectations are met
  • Responsible for tracking fuel, departmental labor, payroll, and expense budgets
  • Must be able to ski/snowboard assigned grooming areas to monitor product
  • Assist within the Mountain Operations department and with other departments as needed


Ideal candidate will

  • have at least 3 years of grooming experience
  • 2 years of experience in managing staff
  • be familiar with necessary computer programs and systems
  • be punctual and tolerant to long hours outdoors
  • have strong interpersonal skills
