Overview

 We are looking for new Server Assistants to join the Boyne Highlands Resort team. You will be responsible for welcoming guests, assisting the servers and food runners as needed, and resetting tables after guests are done. Schedules are flexible, allowing you and your manager to find a schedule that fits your lifestyle and giving you the time you need to enjoy the perks that come from working at the Highlands. Server Assistants start at $10 per hour plus tips

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

  • Create a positive impression for our guests by welcoming them with a smile and eye contact. Engage the guest in conversation and encourage them to return.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all seating areas including all tables, chairs and floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations.
  • Refill water and coffee throughout the shift.
  • Communicate and assist hosts to set up and break down tables for customer requests.
  • Remove dirty dishes, silverware and any debris from tables between courses and after the customer has left.
  • Reset tables for the next customer.
  • Assist with spills throughout the restaurant to assure customer safety.
  • Janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, removing garbage, shoveling snow, etc.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Communicates absences and schedule changes promptly.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.

Qualifications

  • Must have SafeServ Certification or be able to obtain one after being hired
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long hours on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
