Overview

Boyne Highlands Resort is looking for new Hosts to join our team. You will welcome guests to the resort and make them feel comfortable as well as answering any questions they may have before being seated. Schedules are flexible, allowing you and your manager to find a schedule that fits your lifestyle and giving you the time you need to enjoy the perks that come from working at the Highlands. Hosts/Hostesses start at $14 per hour.

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

  • Create a positive impression for our guests by welcoming them with a smile and eye contact. Engage the guest in conversation and encourage them to return.
  • Answer telephone and respond appropriately.
  • Take delivery and To-Go orders.
  • Handle payment transactions.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding the number of reservations, large groups, and current seating pace.
  • Ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality guest service. 
  • Set up or restock product and service items.
  • Take out the garbage and wipe down counters and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any customer requests.
  • Assist fellow team members as needed.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Communicates absences and schedule changes promptly.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.

Qualifications

  • Must have SafeServ Certification or be able to obtain one after being hired
  • Prior Experience with Point-of-Sale system preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long hours on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
