Overview

We are looking for new Food Court Line Servers to join the Boyne Highlands Resort team! Line Servers work on the front lines, taking orders, serving food and drinks as well as assisting guests with all other needs. Schedules are flexible, allowing you and your manager to find a schedule that fits your lifestyle and giving you the time you need to enjoy the perks that come from working at the Highlands. Line Servers start at $14 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive impression for our guests by welcoming them with a smile and eye contact. Engage the guest in conversation and encourage them to return.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Upsell food and beverage items by using suggestive selling techniques.
  • Answer questions regarding regions where food products come from, and how food is prepared.
  • Describe in detail tastes and textures.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality guest service. 
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any customer requests.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Communicates absences and schedule changes promptly. 

Qualifications

  • Must have SafeServ Certification or be able to obtain one after being hired
  • Prior experience with serving preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long hours on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
