Overview

Inn at Bay Harbor is a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel nestled on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. It is a place and experience that is Exactly Like Nothing Else.

 

This Level I internship is a full-time seasonal position that offers an enriching experience within the Front Office facet of the hospitality industry.  This opportunity explores all front desk agent functions including: warmly greeting each and every guest and colleague, answering phones, handling company inquiries, completing guest registration and room assignment, as well as cashier work.  Candidate must possess ability to handle a variety of tasks/requests at one time, and the ability to deal with a diverse set of individuals. Patience and politeness is key.

 

All internships are paid and customized by both department management and human resources to ensure the experience meets any school requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, greet, and make guests feel comfortable and valued for the duration of their visit
  • Properly perform check-in/check-out procedures in regards to guest accounts
  • Keep accurate account of monies in cash drawer
  • Answer phones
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any guest request
  • Keep professional attitude and demeanor during all guest interactions
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of resort services/functions and community events, including details such as: dates/times/locations

Qualifications

Must be available weekends, weeknights, and holidays

 

Applicants must be 18 years old

 

Long periods of standing required

 

Computer skills are mandatory
