The Senior Accountant is a member of the Corporate Accounting & Finance team that oversees all financial and accounting operations for Boyne Resorts.  The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of monthly accounting functions as described below.  Additionally, an understanding of or willingness to learn about the snowsports, golf and resort industries is vital to achieving success in this position. The current composition of the Corporate Finance team offers opportunity for growth and advancement in the near to mid-term.




  • Responsible for corporate accounting, reporting and GL maintenance as assigned in accordance with US GAAP
  • Assist with completing an accurate, complete and timely month-end close
  • Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
  • Support year-end financial statement audit
  • Assist with preparing quarterly consolidation and cash flow statement
  • Assist with consolidated implementation of new lease accounting standard (ASC 842)
  • Responsible for consolidated debt and capital lease accounting for all Boyne entities
  • Responsible for consolidated fixed asset accounting and depreciation for all Boyne entities
  • Prepare annual Michigan personal property reports
  • Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax reports
  • Responsible for annual 1099 and 1042 reporting
  • Other tasks as assigned



  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting, business, or finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • 5 or more years of accounting related experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Must possess an in-depth working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, general and operational accounting, budgeting and forecasting and financial reporting
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with ERP systems
  • Success at building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally across the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data base reporting systems
  • Understanding of risk management and employment law and practices



Work Environment


A flexible work schedule is necessary.  Maintaining an office at a Boyne Resorts location in northern Michigan is desired.  When working remotely, an office environment equipped to perform daily job functions and free of distractions is expected.  Occasional travel to resort locations is required.
