As an Associate Guide & Sales Employee , you are responsible for serving the customers throughout their visit to Boyne Outfitters from greeting to checkout and serving as a fly fishing guide for our guests.As a Boyne Mountain team member, there are so many awesome perks for you to take advantage of, such as:  ski passes, golf passes, waterpark passes, and discounts for food, beverages, retail, daycare, and so much more!   • Welcome customers by greeting them and offering them assistance
  • Assist customers by escorting them directly to racks and counters, and/or suggesting items
  • Advise customers by providing accurate information on fly fishing products and services, conditions, techniques, etc.
  • Help customer make selections by building customer confidence through offering suggestions and opinions
  • Accept payments by totaling purchases and processing checks, cash, or credit cards
  • Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise and services of potential interest
  • Setup and display products and merchandise through the store
  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the store and merchandise
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records
  • Ship and receive orders for customers
  • Assist Fly Fishing Guides as necessary
  • Reporting to the Director of Operations for all assigned activities
  • Educating guests on the sport and knowledge of fly fishing
  • Guiding on various Michigan waters, walk & wade and float trips
  • Providing instruction during assigned guest amenity programs
  • Operating and maintaining Boyne Outfitter's equipment
  • Representing Boyne Outfitter's and Boyne Resorts to guests and visitors on and off property

  • You like providing outstanding customer service, meeting new people, as well as reconnecting with familiar customers who return year after year. You get a kick out of exceeding a person’s expectations. If you have previous experience providing excellent customer service, that’s even better!
  • You are approachable and hospitable. You communicate in a clear and friendly manner, and love to share your love for fly fishing, including history, equipment, techniques, entomology, and fly tying. Knowledge of Michigan fish species and waters, including stream conditions, bug hatches, etc. is required.
  • You want to be part of a close-knit team.
  • You have interest in not only serving customers with excellence, you know the value of looking out for the best interests of your fellow team members and can help maintain a fun work environment.
  • You are flexible and always willing to learn more.
  • You understand the demands of exceeding customer needs and can work nights, weekends and holidays when needed. You are able to physically lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and possess a valid driver's license.
  • You achieved a high school diploma or equivalent, are comfortable handling payment transactions, and have basic computer skills.
  • You have, or are able to obtain, American Heart Association First Aid & CPR certification
  • You have, or are able to obtain, a Michigan DNR Inland Pilots License or equivalent
  • You have, or are able to obtain, ServSafe Food handling certification
  • You are at least 18 years of age and have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • You have a valid drivers license
