Sunday River’s Project Manager will oversee all new development functions, from research to final product. The Project Manager will research and help select architects and contractors, process budgets, and schedule and oversee projects. The Project Manager will assist with permitting new projects, and manage relationships with engineers, contractors, and architects. Other responsibilities will include providing day-to-day supervision, coordination, and technical direction of construction activities, along with tracking invoices to ensure amounts align with the contracted values.


  • Solicit projects to Contractors and Architects, and facilitate selection.
  • Provide long-term forecasting of construction and development costs.
  • Responsible for accurate budget and cost reporting across all projects.
  • Provide Project Manager functions for assigned projects.
  • Provide budgeting for assigned construction and development projects.
  • Day-to-day Architectural and Contractor contract administration for assigned project(s).
  • Develop and manage project budgets. Provide monitoring/updates and report to the Directors, Vice Presidents, and General Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Oversight and quality control to ensure compliance with the Contract Documents.
  • Assist with Architectural and Contractor contract review.
  • Assist with project solicitation and selection of Contractors and Architects.
  • Monitor and evaluate construction costs and change orders.
  • Provide direct construction supervision for work that is being contracted directly by the resort, or self-performed by in-house craftsmen/women. Including estimating, scheduling, material procurement, quality control.
  • Periodic carpentry work during self-perform construction work when/if needed.
  • Support and coordinate with building end-users groups within Sunday River Resort departments (Real Estate, Mountain Operations, Lodging, Food & Beverage, etc.).
  • Coordinate Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment purchases and installation for projects.
  • Provide construction cost and schedule recommendations to end-user groups.
  • Develop and monitor assigned project schedules to ensure completion goals are met.
  • Support Resort President, General Manager & VP of Mountain Operations.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Master's License in a related professional trade, plus 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Experience in Construction Management
  • Broad base of technical knowledge and skills relevant to ski area efforts. Ski industry experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant government regulations and permit processes.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of company personnel and establish rapport with outside firms and government agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments with little supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Significant physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors, other work areas and in harsh conditions.
