The Sugarloaf Sport Events Manager conceptualizes, plans, manages, and executes all logistical aspects of our resort’s largest events such as our annual Sugarloaf Homecoming event in the fall, the Sugarloaf Marathon each spring, our Fire on the Mountain Festival, the Sugarloaf Banked Slalom snowboard race, annual US Alpine race events, holiday week/seasonal activities, and much more.  Click here for a full list of Sugarlaof's Events.

Pay rate will be based on various factors, such as experience, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. 


  • Work directly with the Director of Sales and the events team to plan, organize, and execute signature events, concerts, theme weeks and special projects throughout each season.
  • Collaborate on developing vision of events that bring a “wow” factor to our guests; coordinate effort on brand, event themes, agenda frameworks, and content direction that will be used as basis for event efforts.
  • Drive awareness and excitement about event to internal and external attendees.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, insurance, health and safety aspects of event.
  • Manage all aspects of planning documents and historical data.
  • Attend and host meetings as needed for event success and resort communication.
  • Collaborate on all elements of event production and experiences, including coordination with IT and production crews on execution of event; envision and execute on all aspects of event; develop run of show aspects of the event, maximizing features and sourcing additional support as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Team to ensure content creation and deployment, coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure proper messaging and timing of messaging for all events.
  • Oversees the Events Coordinators in several functions including day-to-day oversight of events schedule and asset inventory, scheduling and organization of meetings and all internal communications.
  • This position may require you to work weekends, nights and Holidays.


The ideal candidate for this role will

  • have at least two years of experience with event planning, specifically large scale events

  • have exemplary project management skills related to event planning and execution
  • have strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
