 A Sales Associate’s typical job functions include the following:

• Welcoming customers by greeting them and offering them assistance
• Assisting customers by escorting them directly to racks and counters, and/or suggesting items
• Advising customers by providing accurate information on products
• Helping customer make selections by building customer confidence through offering suggestions and opinions
• Accepting payments by totaling purchases and processing checks, cash, or credit cards
• Keeping clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
• Setting up and displaying products and merchandise through the store
• Maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the store and merchandise
• Helping maintain accurate inventory records
