Big Sky Resort is seeking a Training Manager to continue the growth and development of the Mountain Sports School training program. A successful training program will be measured by our school's ability to recruit and retain high level professional instructors, guest satisfaction and retention, and minimized risk for guests and instructors alike. Big Sky Mountain Sports School philosophy recognizes multiple pathways for instructor development which inspire a lifelong passion for the mountain environment. The Training Manager will see the big picture success of the school while addressing the needs and development of our instructors as individuals.

• Oversee the Training Supervisor Staff and promote a collaborative training program
• Identify and provide training opportunities to further develop Training Staff
• Identify and develop current and future Training Staff, increasing inclusion
• Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and instructors
• Collaborate with Mountain Sports Program Managers to identify and monitor training needs of their respective departments
• Collaborate with Mountain Sports Program Managers to identify and address weaknesses in their programs with a goal to enhance the guest experience and minimize guest complaints
• Instructor development:
  • 1) identify individual, realistic, and achievable goals
  • 2) develop a training plan to achieve those goals
  • 3) follow through and track progress
• Participate as a member of the Mountain Sports School leadership team
• Budget and track training expenses during the season as well as YoY
• Improve beginner conversion rate through terrain based learning and other initiatives – including managing relationships within and without the resort, and training and monitoring instructor success with beginner features.
• Support regular lesson and rental operations during peak times
• Provide a high level of guest service

• PSIA-AASI L3
• Current or Former Examiner, Current Status preferred
• Self-motivated team player
• Ability to collaborate and work with others
• Friendly and dependable
