Overview

As a Senior Staff Accountant at the Summit at Snoqualmie, you will work closely with Accounting Manager, accounting department team members and business partners, ensuring processes and reporting are done in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standard business practices.

 

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie.  Located an hour West of Seattle via Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass, The Summit includes four unique mountain areas, a snow tubing park, Nordic center, SnowSports School, and 10+ food and beverage establishments. In the summer The Summit offers scenic chairlift rides and hiking, and will be opening a new mountain bike park in August.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare accruals and other journal entries as assigned
  • Reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts
  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable process to include vendor maintenance, invoice entry, check runs, vendor and purchaser follow-up, statement review and training/managing winter (seasonal) AP coordinator
  • Review and communicate month-over-month P&L variances to directors
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports
  • Provide information and reports that are accurate, timely and in usable format to ensure financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Develop and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain departmental filing system and assist in developing a paperless process
  • Post and reconcile monthly corporate credit card activity
  • Assist Credit Card sales reconciliation from Point-of-Sale system to Bank
  • Provide accounting guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain the Capital Expense process including fixed asset records
  • Reconcile and file State and Local sales taxes
  • Assist the Accounting Manager as needed

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience must demonstrate an understanding of GAAP, internal controls and full-cycle accounting.

Preferred Candidates will have experience with the following: 

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes and software
  • Accurate, timely and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with intermediate Excel knowledge including pivot tables, vlookups and formulas.
  • Organized and independent
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
  • Works well with others, pleasant demeanor and positive attitude
  • Solid business communication skills
  • Ability to work productively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
