The Security Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Security Department at Big Sky Resort when the Manager is not available.  The department will consist of 4-5 team members during the summer season and roughly 7-10 members during the winter season. The Asst. Manager is responsible for working with the Security Manager to ensure that all projects, scheduling, incident reporting and patrols are executed efficiently.


  • The Asst. Manager will respond to calls the same as a security officer. This will involve incident report documentation, inspections, lock interrogations, releasing of towed vehicles, etc.  
  • Assist with workplace security issues for both guests and employees and ensure all procedures are being accurately followed.
  • Leading by example to ensure that all duties are performed and completed by Security Officers on shift.
  • Completing the weekly schedule to ensure that staff is on appropriate hours.
  • Delegating projects to staff members on a weekly basis. This will include condo inspections, back of house inspections and hotel inspections.
  • Security Manager will help train new staff members for each season. They also assist in creating and updating current training programs for security staff.
  • Security Manager will assist with emergency preparedness training for Front of House employees and support staff where needed.
  • Issuing drivers training for lodging departments that require vehicle use.
  • Attending pre-conference meetings for events and groups as needed.
  • Being a point of contact for management questions when Security Manager is not on shift.
  • Be willing to work evenings, potential late nights and on their feet for extended hours. Heavy lifting of up to 50lbs unassisted required


  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Windows required
  • Previous experience in a customer service field required.  Hotel experience preferred.
  • CPR/AED preferred
