Imagine this…northern Michigan just got pounded with two feet of fresh POW and it’s your job to let the world know! You rise early anticipating the commute, head into work, grab your GoPro, and strap in for a deep day on the slopes. You hit up Meadows, drop into the glades off Superbowl, and round out your day taking some pretty gnarly face shots trying to get that right mix of snow beard and giant smile for the ‘gram. Oh yeah, and you get paid to do this! Sitting down to work is overrated – join a team that pays you to play.

Responsibilities

 

  • PRIMARY FOCUS: Create scripts, shot lists, and creative vision of video edits based on campaign objectives. Shoot video footage for use in social media, web vlogs, and other resort marketing content. Assemble raw material into a finished product to meet objectives. Short clips (30-90 seconds) may be required the same day as the shoot. Camera equipment, including drone, is provided.
  • Capture quality, engaging content on a daily basis. 
  • Edit and curate photos and videos that reinforce the Boyne Mountain brand and lifestyle. 
  • Create, edit, and publish content to social media and web platforms daily 
  • Participate in social media planning and buying
  • Social measurement; metrics, tracking, and reporting 
  • Use Web analytics to maximize social traffic to home website   
  • Cultivate the online relationship with our customers and ensure all consumer comments/requests on social channels are responded to/handled in a timely manner
  • Leverage consumer research to promote and optimize content that resonates with our audience
  • Serve as the social media expert for the company; research and share key trends and emerging channels
  • Responsible for understanding the competitive landscape, consumer target mindset, and business needs to inform relevant social strategy and execution
  • Create weekly blog content that is on brand, utilizing keywords that ensure SEO optimization and promoting the services and activities that are available on-property and locally that will assist in extending the resort’s communications and marketing reach
  • Represent resort’s unique brand in all content marketing related efforts and assist in maintaining a consistent resort image throughout the property via brochures, resort TV channels, signage, guides, and brochures
  • Carry out external communication responsibilities associated with daily snow reporting via website conditions page.
  • Collaborate with company leaders, marketing teammates, and other key stakeholders to support and manage our website design and content marketing (blog, social media assets, and more).
  • Bring new ideas for content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in UI/UX and digital marketing and ensure our content translates.
  • Propose creative projects that attract prospects and convert leads
  • Test new content approaches to capturing existing demand
  • Evolve and ensure consistency and integrity behind our company’s brand and brand guidelines.

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • Proven photography and videography experience - portfolio required..
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or related field preferred
  • Passionate about ski, snowboard, and outdoor industry with ability to carry camera equipment while skiing/riding 
  • Certified FAA Drone Pilot License and flight experience desirable, but not required. 
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills...like, how to fly a drone! 
  • Knowledgeable of social media platforms and social analytics
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sprout Social, Web Content Management systems, Microsoft Office, and blogging platforms
  • Superior writing and editing skills with a proven ability to create unique and compelling copy
  • Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to take complex topics and distill into unique, data-driven and actionable content
  • Understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects, plans, and deliverables
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ever changing, highly productive, and collaborative environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, and able travel to conferences, sponsored events, and expos
