Overview

Base Operations refers to Outside Guest Services and Parking Lots under Big Sky Resort management. As the Base Operations Assistant Manager you will be tasked with assisting in the leadership, coordination, and guidance of a team of 20 or more crew members.

Responsibilities

Assist the Base Operations Manager in overseeing and managing the day-to-day administration, operation and supervision of the Base Area Operations to include:  parking and shuttle services, grounds maintenance, facility snow removal, equipment operations, paid parking/drop off lot.

  • Provide lot, plaza and signage tidiness and visual attractiveness
  • Ensure morale and comradery between crewmembers and ensure pride in work
  • Ensure Base Operations is a guest service focused operation.  Drive recruitment, retention, and departmental professionalism.
  • Support Big Sky Resort’s culture and instill in your team the three pillars:  Do your best, Do what is right, and Treat others as you would like to be treated

Qualifications

  • The ability to set a good example and maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, email, business communications, spreadsheets, and time management systems.
  • General knowledge of Big Sky Resort winter
  • Valid Driver's License. 
  • General knowledge of parking and traffic control operations
  • Basic knowledge of fleet maintenance management

  • Builds positive working relationships with other Big Sky Resort Departments and managers.
  • Is flexible with hours and days of work.  Is able to work weekends and holidays and flex hours if necessary.
  • Prioritizes personal time and work, to have good balance in life.      

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to work outside in all weather for long periods and occasionally carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to shovel snow, engage in repetitive motion and climb stairs
  • Ability to remain seated in equipment and vehicles for long periods
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly to ensure good communication
