Ski and Snowboard Instructor is a full or part-time, seasonal position at Boyne Highlands Resort. The primary focus of the instructor is to instruct guests of all levels of proficiency in ski techniques from basic fundamentals up to and including competitive skiing and latest techniques.
Explain and demonstrate use of equipment.
Explain and demonstrate principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in activity.
Observe students during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
Explain and enforces safety rules and regulations.
May organize and conduct competitions or tournaments.
Lecture on history and purposes of sport.
Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
