Overview

Assists Lift Operations Manager with supervision of personnel and daily operations of their assigned area.  Responsibilities include personnel interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; scheduling lift Operators; planning, reporting and other documentation support; working closely with lift maintenance and other resort departments; and the performance of assigned tasks not necessarily related to this specific job, but essential to the successful operation of the resort. Takes initiative to get any and all jobs completed accurately and proficiently and is someone who doesn't understand the term "not my job."

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

  • Participates in interviewing process for both hiring and evaluating purposes 
  • Training of Lift Operators, including administration of tests and checklists. 
  • Contribute to the development of training programs and the planning and conducting of crew meetings.  Provide leadership and guidance in employee development.
  • Closely oversee daily operations.  Assure readiness of lifts for opening each day: staffing needs, adherence to applicable codes and company policies.  Monitor performance of personnel and lift equipment. 
  • Correct handling of emergency situations.
  • Maintain and review operations related records. 
  • Schedule assignments of lift personnel of any task that is appropriate for the smooth operation of the resort. 
  • Assist with operation planning, i.e., logistics, efficiency, etc. 
  • Promote good guest relations.  Resolve guest difficulties. 
  • Operate equipment necessary to the job: lifts, snowmobiles, hand tools, snow grooming tools, skis or snowboards
  • Perform assigned tasks not necessarily related to this specific job, but essential to the successful operation of the resort.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Lift operator experience with knowledge of mechanical operation of lifts preferred. Record keeping and supervisory skills preferred.
