The Grooming Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Alpine and Nordic grooming team at The Summit at Snoqualmie. This is a seasonal, predominantly graveyard shift work position requiring significant machine operation. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills in order to produce a product of the highest standard. Working closely with the other operations departments, the Grooming Supervisor will ensure our guest’s needs are paramount in the execution of the daily grooming program. Assuring fiscal responsibility through labor control and compliance with all safe working regulations is imperative.

  • Communicate effectively with Vehicle Maintenance, Lift Operations, Snowmaking, Patrol, Terrain Park, Snow Removal, Guest Relations and the Nordic team to enable decision making which provides a platform for success.
  • Provide the grooming staff with ongoing assessment, encouragement and constructive corrective action to execute the operational plan. Work within the company discipline structure to maintain a fair and harmonious department.
  • Maintenance of official records and documents including but not limited to training records, payroll, safety and machine log books and scheduling.
  • Be involved with the recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of all staff.
  • Prepare and maintain a skiing surface for skiers for all levels
  • Fulfill all hauling needs and dosing needs of the other departments
  • Operates all the Snowcats with precision
  • Assist Grooming Manager with providing ongoing 1 on 1 ride time with all staff to ensure grooming methodology, policies and machine operation are consistent with Summit policy and expectations. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and Summit Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend all operations meetings as scheduled in a prepared and professional manner ready to engage and to work with the management team in building excellence.
  • Assist in the continue development of a staff training platform which focuses on utilizing machine technology and support of vehicle maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Strive to develop new patterns of efficiency targeting the reduction of fuel consumption.
  • Work closely with the Terrain Park builders to provide support and management of the Parks as part of the overall snow management plan.

High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution preferred.  A minimum of 5 years’ experience running a groomer.  Previous supervisory experience preferred. Possess a valid Driver’s License.
