Overview

As a Fly Fishing Guide, you are responsible for guiding our guests through our fly fishing program, working with all skill and age levels, while having extensive knoweledge of all aspects of fly fishing.

Responsibilities

Fly Fishing Guide’s typical job functions include the following:

  • Reporting to the Director of Operations for all assigned activities
  • Educating guests on the sport and knowledge of fly fishing
  • Guiding on various Michigan waters, walk & wade and float trips
  • Providing instruction during assisgned guest amentiy programs
  • Operating and maintaining Boyne Outfitter's equipment
  • Representing Boyne Outfitter's and Boyne Resorts to guests and vistors on and off property

Qualifications

This job might be for you if:

  • You have a passion for the outdoors, fly fishing and enjoy working with guests
  • You have extensive knowledge of all aspects of fly fishing including, but not limited to: history, equipment, techniques, entomology and fly tying
  • You posess a strong knowledge of Michigan fish species and waters
  • You are able to operate and maintain various watercraft
  • You have, or are able to obtain, a Michigan DNR Land Lease Permit
  • You have, or are able to obtain, American Heart Assocation First Aid & CPR certification
  • You have, or are able to obtain, a Michigan DNR Inland Pilots License or equivalent if operating watercraft
  • You have, or are able to obtain, ServSafe Food handling certiciation
  • You are at least 18 years of age and have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • You have a valid drivers license
