    Supervisor: Ross Smethurst and Tyler Konen
    Shifts Available: 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
    Wage Information: $10.00/hr or dependent on experience

     

    Lift Operators monitor passenger’s use of chairlifts including observing, advising, and assisting while they are in the operators work area as they load or unload from the aerial or surface lifts. The operator responds to unusual occurrences or conditions by choosing an appropriate action; such as: assisting the passenger, slowing or stopping the lift, and continuing operation and observation.

     

    Responsibilities

    • All Lift Operators are expected to be knowledgeable of all operational, emergency, and equipment procedures related to Lift Operations. During shift, the Operator assumes responsible charge of the chairlift. This includes denying access to passengers in unsafe conditions, verifying that pre-operational inspections are complete and documented, and maintaining an operational log
    • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by shoveling, raking and removing debris from ramp areas
    • Must be willing to familiarize self with Big Sky Resort, mountain bike terrain, and surrounding areas in order to accurately converse with guests and answer questions
    • Assist with any necessary projects, such as fencing, maze set-up, and sign replacement
    • Have a welcoming and positive demeanor while greeting guests loading chairs. Summer includes foot traffic and mountain bike loading. Must be able to assist guest loading bicycles.
    • Be confident in directing guest away from chairlifts during lightning holds and inclement weather
    • Respond well to direction. This position is highly supervised by Lift Leads, Supervisors, and Managers

    Qualifications

    • Previous guest service experience is preferred
    • Punctual and tolerant to long hours outdoors
    • Strong communication skills and attention to details
