  • Overview

    Join Sunday River's Marketing team as the Communications Manager to oversee internal and external communication efforts to build positive brand recognition, improve the guest experience, and grow resort revenue. The Communications Manager reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing and is a full-time, year-round position. 

     

    The ideal candidate will have a Communications or Marketing Communications degree, a real interest in storytelling, PR skills, and the desire to work as a team to better the resort’s overall brand. A proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary and advanced skiing or snowboarding skills provides a definite advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Media relations, including story idea generation and pitching, media outreach, and relationship development.
    • Manage public relations strategy and serve as the official spokesperson for the resort.
    • Crisis management, serving in a leadership role in planning and executing the resort’s crisis response plan.
    • Marketing for all resort profit centers, including development and execution of marketing plans and prioritizing onsite communication channels.
    • Manage guest communication channels across the resort, leveraging operational messaging, improving the guest experience, and profit center merchandising.
    • Internal communications to team members through multiple channels and platforms.
    • Web site content management.
    • General copywriting and editing of resort communications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. 
    • Five or more years in PR or corporate communications, preferably within the ski or travel industries.
    • On-camera experience desirable.
    • Writing and editing.
    • Intermediate or higher ski/snowboard ability.
    • Basic graphic design knowledge helpful.
