Greet and interact with guests making the features of the Adventure Center a safe and fun experience for guests. This job includes zipline guiding, leading base and summit snowshoe tours, teaching Nordic lessons, rock wall facilitation, renting ice skates and Nordic/snowshoe equipment to guests and the processing of related paperwork. Tasks include zipline inspection, ice rink maintenance, and general guest service. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.
Work with other staff in the department to set up for the day which includes inspecting the rock wall, belay equipment, zipline towers and gear and ensure everything is maintained in proper working order at all times.
Operation of the ziplines and proper gear fitting for the guest’s while adhering to the highest of safety standards.
Instruct guests in proper belay and climbing procedures and assist as safety overseer and belayer when needed.
Lead guests on a variety of snowshoe tours ranging from 1 ½ - 3 hours along the Pemigewasset river or to the summit of North Peak.
Fit Nordic equipment and Snowshoe equipment with brief instruction on how equipment should be used. Direct, with a map, what trails are available for specific equipment rented.
Maintain a safe and functional ice rink. This includes flooding/hosing down rink when applicable, shoveling snow off after a storm, patrolling rink to ensure guests are being safe, checking guests tickets for purchase of rink fee and maintaining rink on a daily basis for safety.
Clean Adventure Center on a regular basis along side other staff. Keep walkways outside clean of ice and snow.
Occasionally patrol Cross Country trails on skis or snowshoes.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
