  • Overview

    The Assistant F&B Manager is responsible for assisting with the oversight of all base area food and beverage operations related to delivering an exceptional guest experience.  The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will work hand-in-hand with the Food & Facilities Manager to devise business practices and solutions that result in consistently refined and exemplary services, production of a quality product and financial success.  This position also assists with ensuring cleanliness standards are being met across the base area, including bathrooms and snow removal.  Takes initiative to get any and all jobs completed accurately and proficiently and is someone who doesn’t understand the term “not my job.”

    Responsibilities

    The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

    • Supervises food service workers and product for each facility in the base area.
    • Supervises janitorial and light building maintenance tasks for base facilities.
    • Performs supervisory duties such as scheduling, handling employee needs, coaching staff members on performance, and controlling labor costs by responding to daily business needs.
    • Provide hands on leadership with staff.
    • Must be competent in handling guest relations in challenging circumstances.
    • Perform daily cash tie outs.
    • Encourage, mentor, coach, train and develop team members to ensure their maximum value to The Summit so the exceptional guest experience is realized.
    • Practice active asset management, control and security to reduce shrinkage.
    • Recruit, hire and train food and refreshment stand and kitchen team members. Follow prescribed orientation process to set each team member up for success.
    • Directly supervise team members by carrying out the supervisory and position responsibilities in accordance with Summit policies and procedures. This will include planning, assigning and at times performing activities the Food and Beverage team members typically perform.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

    High school diploma or equivalent. Previous restaurant and bar supervisory experience highly preferred.  Inventory and food cost management knowledge preferred.  Qualified candidates for this position will have working bar and restaurant knowledge and experience with high volume food service.  Candidates must have their Class 13 liquor server permit and a valid health card.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
