  • Overview

    Groomers are responsible for making sure we provide the best possible skiing surfaces for our guests.  This position works graveyard shift 10pm-8am.  Groomers will operate one of our grooming machines to flatten and smooth ski runs and can occasionally help out in terrain parks.  Groomers get a chance to see the mountain in a way very few people do. 

    Groomers are winter seasonal positions, and will generally run from December through April.

     

    Responsibilities

    The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position. 

    • Prepare and maintain a skiing surface for skiers of all levels
    • Fulfill all hauling needs and dozing needs of the other departments
    • Report any equipment damage to supervisor
    • Operates all the Snowcats with precision
    • Understands and follows all safety guidelines
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Willing to work 10+ hour shifts as needed
    • Willing to work early morning, late evening and overnight shifts
    • Willing to work holiday and weekends as required
    • Must be comfortable working outdoors in an alpine, winter environment
    • Team player
    • Basic understanding of resort’s trail system
    • Experience with operating a Snowcat and winch kat grooming - required for Advanced & Intermediate
    • Understand grooming patterns and methods including team grooming techniques
    • Knowledge of the Ski Resort – training provided
    • Ability to detect noticeable problems with equipment
    • Understand Safety guidelines

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  Must be 18 years of age or older.  Previous heavy machine operating experience preferred.
