  • Overview

    Server Assistant, Host, Expo, and Food Runner are all part-time seasonal postions, here at the Inn At Bay Harbor.  Responsibilties are to ensure that patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service.  These restaurnt support staff employees, work in the front and back of the house providing seamless support so that our guests ultimatly have a wonderful guest experience.  Responsibilties are listed out below, however are not limited to only the ones addressed.  

    Responsibilities

    -Welcome & Greet Guests, escort to table, pull seats out and present menus.

    -Monitor resturant entrance area at all times to observe potential guests while performing Host Duties.

    -Keep Host stand neat, clean and organized at all times and properly supplied for operation.

    -Ensure all menues are wiped down, free of spots or stains, and complete.

    -Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for guests.

    -Answer telephone and respond or direct call appropriately.  Check phone messages if applicable.

    -Coordinate activities of dining room personnel to ensure proper rotational seating to keep prompt and courteous sevice to guests.

    -Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you're there to personally take care of them.

    -Inform guests of specials and menu changes.

    -Answer questions regarding regions where food products come from, and how food is prepared.

    -Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manor.

    -Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.

    -Maintain clean service areas.

    -Monitor and observe guests dining experience.

    -Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service.

    -Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.

    -Assist fellow servers as situations arise as needed. 

    -Assit bus person with cleaning and resetting tables as needed.

    -Clear and sanitize tables for the next group of guests.

    -Dispose of trash and other waste.

    -Keep the restaurant stocked with adequate supplies, such as plates, glasses, silverware, and napkins.

    -Assist cooks, servers, dishwashers, and bartenders with various tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or General education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience with point of sale software preferred.  Restaurant support staff must either possess ServSafe certification or obtain it upon hire.
