    Sunday River is seeking an experienced Lift Maintenance Manager to oversee safe operation and maintenance of all ropeways and carpets consistent with ANSI B77 and Maine Ropeway Safety Committee rules at Sunday River Resort. The Lift Maintenance Manager will lead a team of Lift Mechanics and is responsible for hiring, training, supervising and are actively involved in team development. This is a full-time, year-round role that reports to the V.P. of Mountain Operations. 



    • Create and manage Lift Maintenance budget.
    • Attend all required supervisor/manager training programs.
    • Attend and conduct weekly meetings.
    • Scheduling (self, staff, maintenance and projects).
    • Manage, maintain, and document inventory.
    • Schedule and conduct all lift inspections with appropriate agencies.
    • Assist in the development program and training of lift mechanics.
    • Lead the crew in a manner that is professional and consistent with the resort's expectations.
    • Conduct required daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly inspections, to maintain and repair lifts according to prescribed procedures and document as required. Responsible for review and maintenance of files.
    • Expert knowledge of the operation and maintenance of lifts based on the manufacturer’s manual and the codes regulating the lifts.
    • Capability to locate and diagnose problems, plan and perform necessary repairs, and report major problems to V.P. of Mountain Operations.
    • Ensure that lift stations, tools, equipment and shop work areas are kept clean and in good operating condition.
    • Responsible for overseeing the startup of all lifts on electric and auxiliary.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems relating to towers and lift line.
    • Responsible for quality assurance on all work performed on lifts.
    • Familiarity with welding and fabricating, rigging, electrical schematics, blueprints, hydraulics, basic electrical skills, diesel and gas engines, hydrostatics, and NDT process.
    • Proficient with computer programs including excel, word, access and outlook programs.


    Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Lift Maintenance/Mechanic role.
