  • Overview

    The Group Sales Coordinator is responsible for developing, networking and growing new business, as well as maintaining current and incoming accounts. Works to achieve and surpass monthly department goals and objectives, as well as season budget and objectives.

     

    The position would need to be flexible according to the weekly schedule. The position is seasonal full time averaging 32 - 40 hours a week.

    Responsibilities

    The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

    • Represent The Summit at Snoqualmie as a leader in Washington state resorts to past, present and future clients at the resort and offsite promotional events.
    • Identifies and contacts potential customers for the following products: Day group visits of 15 people or more, food and beverage coordination, including catering options.  Assist as needed with bulk ticket sales, buyouts and presale programs.
    • Solicits sales via phone and email, trade shows, on site presentations, member associations and networking.
    • Provides excellent customer service to all clients, works with group coordinators to plan events and activities, greets guests, ticketing groups, assist with food and beverage functions and meeting any special needs groups may have.
    • Effectively coordinates efforts with appropriate departments to assure a smooth, positive experience for group attendees.  Maintain weekly communications with all departments regarding upcoming groups and events.
    • Establishes and maintains customer/group activities database; works with Sales Manager to coordinate group mailings/emails. Booking of groups, entering information pertinent to group visits into Act database. Track and process group billings and payments for group events.
    • Assists Sales Manager with the creation and development of collateral pieces to promote the property and its activities, as well as tracking weekly sales and producing weekly sales reports.
    • Effectively communicates with all levels of employees, guests and outside contacts in person, via phone, email, response to web site inquires and or other electronic means.
    • Develops and maintains key relationships with all existing and potential sales contacts, as well as internal team members to ensure excellent guest service and increased sales revenue.  Effectively follows up on new sales leads generated through marketing collateral to secure new business
    • Assists with the planning and production of special events and activities as needed
    • Print, sell group products and process payments a using Siriusware Point of Sale System (Training Provided)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
    • Must have computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, ACT or other database management system, Word, Publisher and Outlook
    • Must display excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, as well as customer service skills.
    • Ability to effectively move around all areas of the property
    • Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities and goals, as well as work with minimal supervision
    • Attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to act quickly & effectively on arising opportunities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college of technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior Sales/Customer Service experience a plus.  On snow experience and intermediate to advanced ski and or snowboard skills a plus.
