  • Overview

    As an Information Technology Systems Engineer you are responsible for providing technology support to Boyne Mountain Resort, Boyne Country Sports, and BOYNE reservations team members.  Use of personal vehicle for travel is required while on duty.  Some travel is required to our remote locations in Michigan including Bay Harbor, Novi, Bloomfield, Wixom, Traverse City, Grand Rapids, and Petoskey.  Mileage reimbursement is provided.  Overtime, weekend and Holiday hours may be necessary at times.

    Responsibilities

    The Information Technology Systems Engineer's typical job functions include:

     

    • Maintaining voice, data, and TV cabling infrastructure (indoor and outdoor)
    • Repairing or replacing defective wiring
    • Installing and terminating wiring to support renovation, relocation, or new construction
    • Providing support for guest room issues including but not limited to: TV, phone and internet
    • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing or replacing various systems, including but not limited to: end user computers, phones, TVs, printers, security camera systems, digital signage, cell boosters, team member cell phones, digital music, and any other resort technology; using vendor support to resolve difficult problems 
    • Providing current and new users with basic instruction
    • Documenting solutions for both end user education and technical reference purposes
    • Performing seasonal rotation of POS hardware and related equipment configurations; performing and maintaining an inventory of tools and equipment
    • Maintaining stocks of consumable supplies
    • Always looking to improve yourself and our technologies for guests and team members
    • Providing desktop PC support to BOYNE Resorts team members
    • Receiving general direction from the IT Director and performing tasks independently
    • Performing system administration as directed by the Information Technology Director as well as day-to-day user and e-mail account administration and maintenance
    • Performing and maintaining an inventory of computer equipment
    • Using vendor support to resolve difficult problems
    • Configuring new telephones, computers, printers, and install software
    • Assisting users to solve application problems
    • Developing innovative ways to improve and/or streamline current processes
    • Consistently work on IT-related projects as directed by IT management
    • May be assigned additional tasks by supervisor

    Qualifications

    This position may be for you if:

    • You are at least 18 years old; have achieved a high school diploma or General Education Degree
    • You possess a two or four year degree in a computer related field; possess two years related work experience preferred; IT related certifications preferred
    • You possess a valid driver's license
    • You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems i.e. Windows 10 and later required; Mac; Android; iOS and Windows Server operating systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Networking and TCP/IP required; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Skype for Business, OneDrive is preferred
    • You have the ability to learn the operation and maintenance of complex computer systems is required; basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, PowerShell, Scripting and Imaging is preferred
    • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively work with others
    • You are available to work some nights, weekends, holidays and occasional required over-time
    • You are able to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • You are able to occasionally travel to various BOYNE locations in Michigan
