    Be the face of Sunday River's F&B team! The host's job is a front-of-the-house, directly guest-facing, hands-on position. They are responsible to meet and greet guests and provide them with top notch customer service from the start to the finish of the guest experience. Hosts are the first point of contact for guests and will escort guests to appropriate tables, clear additional table settings, maintain an organized host station, organize amd manage the reservation book, seat server's sections based on appropriate head counts and last sat, opening and closing sidework.


    Hosts are responsible for managing the flow for seating that allows BOH and FOH to manage their respective areas for a timely postively memorable guest experience. A times hosts will assist with water service, bussing, and resetting. The position requires the knowledge of the outlet's menus; hosts must be able to inform guests of the menu choices at other mountain restaurants, promote area activities and be able to answer general knowledge questions involving the resort.  This position is also responsible for answering the phone and being able to provide guests with restaurant, menu, and resort inquiries accurately and in some locations take reservations.


    Hosts must operate at all times under the guidelines of Boynes Brand Standards and must be physically able to spend the majority of their work day on their feet  (in most cases the entire shift), and be able to push, pull, and lift up to 30 lb. The shifts may be both days and/or nights dpending on the outlet's hours of operation and include weekends and holidays with more time being needed during periods of extremely heavy business, like Christmas week and Presidents week. Hosts must present a professional manner and have the ability to maintain their` composure during pressure situations resulting from business levels and time constraints. This is a front line position that involves direct and intense customer contact, so the ability to converse with customers is essential.


    • Daily set-up, stocking, tear-down, and over all cleanliness and sanitization of their host station.
    • Greet and converse with guests and fellow employees.
    • Arrive to work in appropriate attire, defined individually at each outlet. 
    • Maintain a professional manner and have the ability to maintain composure during pressure situations resulting from business levels and time constraints.   
    • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized host station. 
    • Maintain the reservation book. 
    • Answer the phone and provide guests with restaurant, menu, and resort inquiries accurately.
    • Assist with water service, bussing, and resetting.
    • Complete opening and closing shift duties completing sidework as assigned by MOD, FOH supervisor or Lead Server.
    • Immediately communicate with the Manager in regards to any guest concerns or complaints.
    • Communicate to MOD maintenance and repairs as needed for FOH in order for bar and/or dining room to be presentable and in working order for all guests.
    • Follow state, local, federal, and Sunday River guidelines and laws on proper liquor service.
    • Operate the FOH within the guidelines outlined in the Boyne Brand Standard Audit.
    • At times of high volume within the resort, assistance may be required outside of their assigned outlet.  


    Entry-level position with training; preference given to applicants with applicable experience.
