  • Overview

    The Banquet Manager is responsible for creating a work environment that facilitates the highest level of guest service.  They are the main point of contact for all group leaders while they are on-site. This position is responsible for providing efficient and relevant training to all Conference Services (CS) team members, as well as continuing support throughout each season.  Constant evaluation of the CS team and the Yellowstone Conference Center are a must.  This position serves as the liaison between the Conference Management team, the Group Leader, and the Conference Services team.


    • Communicate continuously with Conference Management team to ensure the highest quality client and guest experience.
    • Attend scheduled pre-conference meetings with Yellowstone Conference Center groups.
    • Accurate accounting and revenue posting for daily group events.
    • Serve as main point of contact for all conference/meeting needs to group leaders when on-site.
    • Oversee the set-up and execution of meetings and conference in the Yellowstone Conference Center and additional impacted areas.
    • Responsible for inspecting and performing quality checks for every event prior to the scheduled start time of the event.
    • Responsible for performing a regular maintenance review of all function space(s) areas by performing walkthroughs, writing maintenance requests, and following up that all maintenance requests are completed.
    • Support a cohesive food and beverage team with great communication, problem solving and patience.
    • Enforces the service standards for all banquet events, meetings and related operations including innovative and creative food and beverage/bar displays.
    • Handles employee concerns, promotes a positive work environment, and promotes a positive team atmosphere with other Banquet Managers and all other management and staff.
    • Initiates and implements new policies and procedures where appropriate to further improve the department.
    • Creation of weekly staff schedules and labor control.
    • Strive to achieve 100% guest satisfaction.
    • Support a constant improvement of overall Conference Services process.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by employer.


    • 3-5 years relevant banquet and leadership experience recommended.
    • Passionate about creating and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
    • Familiar with Big Sky Resort and the community recommended.
    • Detail oriented with banquet and events rooms and set-ups.
    • Outstanding customer service skills required.
    • Have knowledge of all office equipment operation, including necessary computer and typing experience.
    • Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word required.
    • Audio/Visual experience recommended.
    • Delphi/Amadeus catering system experience a plus.
    • Springer Miller system experience a plus.
    • Experience creating and maintaining weekly staff schedules required.
    • Must be able to multi task, be well organized and detail oriented.
