  • Overview

    General maintenance and repair.  The individual in this position is responsible for working with the Building Maintenance team in order to uphold the standard of maintenance throughout the property. They are also required to perform preventative maintenance operations to avoid costly repairs. Among their duties they repair doors, fix leaky faucets, and perform light carpentry tasks.  Takes initiative to get any and all jobs completed accurately and proficiently and is someone who does not understand the term “not my job.”

    Responsibilities

    • Perform repair jobs including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
    • Help with other departments as needed
    • Flexible working hours.  Some job sharing may be required.
    • Other non-essential duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Basic carpentry skills, including necessary math skills.                                                
    • Having knowledge of safety measures.
    • High attention to detail and able to prepare estimates of time needed for repairs.
    • Being able to follow written and oral instructions.
    • Having knowledge of maintenance practices and repair methods.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    One year certificate from college or technical school; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
