  • Overview

    Entry level Group Sales Associate position with a focus on growing existing business markets and expansion into new business channels. The ideal candidate will have a base level understanding of both the Hospitality Industry and the Sales Process, and will be prepared to master both by working closely with the Director of Sales and our Group Sales Managers. This position will be entirely focused on outbound sales opportunities, and the candidate must look forward to the challenge of prospecting, cold-calling, networking and learning our industry from the ground level.

    Responsibilities

    • Solicit, negotiate and book new business through various sales techniques to maximize revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.
    • Work closely with the Director of Sales and Group Sales Managers to effectively targets markets and submarkets with high growth potential.
    • Work on assigned sales projects and missions to grow targeted business segments.
    • Work directly with Group Sales Managers to learn and understand the key needs and distinctions between the many markets Sunday River sells.
    • Dedicate at least 50% of work week on outbound sales initiatives including phone calls, email blasts and other sales techniques to reach untapped markets and customers.
    • Regularly attending networking events and tradeshows to promote Sunday River Resort
    • Effectively use all Sales Tools provided to their fullest capacity, including Amadeus, SMS, Microsoft Office.
    • Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history, ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospects.
    • Work closely with Group Coordination, Lodging and F&B to design effective solutions to customer requests.
    • Develop meaningful relationships with Sunday River team members, based on honesty and trust, in order to drive collaboration amongst departments and divisions at the resort.
    • Use effective sales techniques to upsell Groups to higher end and/or additional revenue opportunities.
    • Effectively communicate a group's needs and expectations with all necessary individuals and departments utilizing the tools provided: Delphi, SMS, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
    • Respond to client questions and concerns in a timely manner and identify solutions as needed. Utilize the knowledge and experience of peers and managers to do so when appropriate.
    • Maintain accurate records of group business, providing a complete history for each group.
    • Work with Accounting department to reconcile group accounts.

    Qualifications

    Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent. One to three years related experience preferred.
