  • Overview

    As a Staff Accountant, you are responsible for accounting and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  Takes initiative to get any and all jobs completed accurately and proficiently and is someone who doesn’t understand the term “not my job.”


    The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position. 

    • Analyzing and reconciling various general ledger account reconciliations, including monthly bank reconciliations

    • Assisting in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports

    • Preparing journal entries to assist with the monthly close process

    • Providing information that is accurate, timely and in usable format to ensure financial reporting deadlines are met

    • Performing accounting and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

    • Developing and maintaining job documentation and procedures to ensure accurate SOP’s are kept

    • Maintaining and keeping filing system

    • Managing full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoicing, check printing, following up with vendors on all outstanding issues.

    • Maintaining Corporate credit card support and monthly reconciliation

    • Training seasonal Accounts Payable Coordinator.

    • Providing reporting and documentation for accounting team, as well as inter-departmentally as requested.

    • Maintaining all Fixed Asset records and the entire CapEx process.

    • Assisting the Accounting Manager as needed

    • Other duties as assigned

    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; able to present information and respond to questions to group of managers, team members, customers and/or public


    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. Intermediary Excel including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs and IF statements preferred.


    • Experience in Fixed Asset accounting and/or sales tax filings is desirable


    • Ability to work productively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines

    B.S. Degree in Accounting or have two to four years related experience in accounting.  Must have working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
