Overview

Noxious Weed Technician will work outdoors with a supervisor in a mountain environment to support noxious weed control throughout Big Sky Resort property and along Jack Creek Road, June 15th through September 30th. Application process of herbicides on noxious weeds includes 4-wheeler ATV, pick-up truck, and backpack spray units.

Responsibilities

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time on uneven mountainous terrain. Schedule can be dependent on weather.
  • Proper use of expensive equipment and handle and apply herbicides in accordance with state, federal, and manufacturer requirements. Follow all Safety and Personal Protective Equipment requirements as outlined in Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Work concurrently with other Resort and Mountain Operations employees
  • Use considerable judgement to adapt methods to meet new requirements. Must be able to complete jobs accurately with little direction and work independently
  • Must be physically fit; able to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs unassisted, carry heavy equipment, and hike to job locations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Enjoy working outdoors!
  • Knowledge or experience with mountain vegetation preferred
