The Laundry Attendant is one of the most important roles at the resort in regards to maintaining guest amenities and employee resources. Efficient hotel operations hinge upon the laundry department and its attendants. The Attendants' chief responsibility is to ensure the laundry department stays consistent in its work flow; Attendants are the front line.
Daily tasks include maintaining smooth in house linen laundering cycles (company owned comforters, blankets, mattress pads & pillows), fast & clean soiled linen removal, keeping the laundry area clean and laundering resort wide uniforms. Many operations require the Attendant to work with resort employees from other departments. Communication skills and courteous service are mandatory. The employees of the resort are Laundry’s core “customers” and should be treated as such.
The Laundry Department works closely with an external laundry service that provides us with all linen & terry used to service hotel rooms. Overseeing proper intake and shipping of this linen is crucial. The entirety of the Housekeeping staff depends on the availability of externally washed linen. Organized efforts to create a smooth flow of linen are of the utmost importance.
Although the Laundry Attendant works in the basement and has minimal guest interaction, the support they provide to the rest of the resort is invaluable. The Attendant is directly responsible for keeping sheets on beds, uniforms on backs and smiles on guest faces.
