The Content Coordinator is responsible for crafting engaging content for Loon’s social media channels and writing the daily snow report for Loonmtn.com The ideal candidate should live and breathe skiing and riding, be a great storyteller, and have excellent writing, photography, and videography skills. The Content Coordinator produces and delivers content to the resort’s social media channels, writes the daily snow report, and contributes to other marketing projects as needed. The Content Coordinator must ski or snowboard at an advanced level and be comfortable gathering photo and video content in all snow and weather conditions on all types of terrain. This is a seasonal position, which runs from mid-November to early or mid-April, including weekends and holidays.
Capture engaging photo and video content for social channels each day. Works with Communications Manager to maintain steady flow of consistent, on-brand messaging across Loon’s social media platforms.
Communicate with mountain operations staff to collect weather and snow accumulation data, plus grooming and trail info for snow report.
Write snow report on LoonMtn.com each morning and afternoon, update third-party snow report services, and send daily snow report email to subscribers.
Assist with photo and video shoots as assigned.
Communicate with other departments about upcoming special programs and events.
Assist Communications Manager with PR-related duties including distribution of press kits, press tours, etc.
Work with Events Manager and Marketing Manager to organize and promote events, update on-site merchandising materials, and contribute to various marketing projects.
Perform other duties as assigned, including job sharing during peak periods.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Social Media expertise.
Demonstrated skill in using DSLR camera for photo and video capture.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or other editing platforms.
Familiarity with current social media trends and best practices.
Advanced skiing or riding skills.
Ability to ski or ride comfortably with a 20-pound camera bag, on expert terrain, in all snow conditions.
Love of early mornings. Work day starts at 6 a.m.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
