Overview

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager for Vacation Rentals is your opportunity to lead a team of housekeeping professionals to meet daily, weekly, and seasonal goals. You will be responsible for leading the team on Manager off-days, and helping create a culture of respect, dedication, personal growth, safety, and hard work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and be able and willing to complete all duties required of a housekeeper. This includes, but is not limited to: services, linen changes, departure cleans, deep cleans and delivery of supplies.
  • Responsible for assisting in training and motivating the housekeeping staff.
  • Assists in creating housekeepers daily lists, inspecting unit, managing daily workflow, maintaining employee schedules, managing labor hours, and guest/owner interaction & problem resolution.
  • Be available to complete Departure, Linen Change, Service, and Deep Cleans as assigned when required.
  • Review time cards for all employees and make adjustments, as needed. Communicate any issues to Payroll. Partner with Housekeeping Manager to process daily payroll.
  • Ensure all blocked rooms guest ready, updated in the SMS system, all housekeepers are finished with their daily assignments and all keys are returned to the office.
  • Responsible for daily inspections of vacation rental properties. Handle light maintenance issues and damages that may occur.
  • Monitor and document when owner property is removed from a unit for cleaning. Ensure property is returned in a timely manner.
  • Monitor housekeepers and support personnel performance, progress, and quality of daily assignments.
  • Communicate all policies and procedures to staff and ensure compliance.
  • Discipline, praise and counsel staff as needed. Ensure work environment is safe for employees, guest and condominium owners.
  • Ensure employees have access to all safety materials required for job completion.
  • Bring unresolved employee or guest/condo owner issues to upper management.
  • Create strong communication lines between staff, guests, and management.
  • Weekly contribution to inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Coordinate and participate in special projects such as: Deep Cleans, Team Events, Interviewing and Hiring, and any other ad-hoc projects assigned.
  • Work long hours walking, standing, or sitting. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs unassisted.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of direct housekeeping experience preferred
  • Previous leadership role or management experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn various systems and programs including SMS and Alice
  • Work full shifts walking, standing, or sitting. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs unassisted.
