Overview

Successful candidate will be responsible for producing signs and sign-related content that is in-line with Summit branding, wayfinding, and safety standards. The person in this position will be responsible for using the provided tools and resources including: Adobe Creative Suite, a large format digital printer/cutter, small plotter, vinyl application tools, carpentry tools, Summit brand guidelines, and industry best practices to produce engaging materials that deliver clear messaging, consistent branding, helpful wayfinding, and generate interest in The Summit. The Sign Shop Technician primarily works with vinyl in various ways including but not limited to: designing layouts, operating/printing on a large format digital printer/cutter, application to a variety of substrates, and installation in a variety of locations both inside, outside as well as on-mountain. This person is also responsible for the maintenance of all sign shop equipment. This job may include other duties and responsibilities, and the preferred candidate should be open to working on additional projects as assigned. This position works up to 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

BREAKDOWN OF CORE DUTIES:

  • 50%  Printing & print application to a various substrates
  • 20%  Installation
  • 10%  Materials prep
  • 10%  Design
  • 5%    Service and maintain equipment and production areas. 
  • 5%    Miscellaneous tasks

Qualifications

  • Experience in sign creation, including production, installation, layout and design
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with vinyl and substrates

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED.  Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in sign design, production & installation.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator & Photoshop.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee may be required to ski or snowboard and possibly required to ski or snowboard with a backpack and or tools. Helmet is required while skiing/snowboarding. Employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; hike, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Sign Shop Tech is primarily an indoors office job but does at times require going outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, and precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will occasionally be required to move between base areas and occasionally work off-site.
