Overview

Looking for an opportunity to showcase your exceptional teamwork and communication skills? Boyne Highlands is seeking a Lift Maintenance Manager to join our Mountain Operations team. This role is full-time and year-round. The Lift Maintenance Manager ensures the safety and reliability of our lifts by monitoring, maintaining, and repairing all chairlift equipment at the resort. The ideal candidate will help create an environment of teamwork and efficient communication, while also being dedicated to Boyne’s continued efforts to operate sustainably through various ‘green’ initiatives. This position will also ensure the Lift Maintenance Team operates in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. This role will delegate tasks as necessary and train team members in preventative routine maintenance and diagnostic maintenance. The Lift Maintenance Manager is a critical position as Boyne Highlands starts its resort-wide renovation, which includes multiple upgrades and new lift installations. The ideal candidate will create a culture centered on safety and guest service, while holding a competent mechanical and electrical skill set. Boyne Highlands is looking for a candidate with strong communication and team-building skills, as well as proven leadership experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Establish and monitor lift maintenance operations to ensure reliable and timely lift transportation in the most cost-effective manner.
  2. Initiate, schedule, and supervise maintenance programs as per Boyne Highlands and Boyne procedures, manufacturers’ specifications, and ANSI standards.
  3. Monitor and review completed maintenance to ensure that necessary maintenance has been performed per established procedures.  Ensure that all work is recorded in the appropriate manner.
  4. Formulate and initiate maintenance procedures to ensure all necessary information is available to maintenance personnel for the proper completion of maintenance.
  5. Oversee all department training to ensure all personnel are receiving periodic and pertinent training.
  6. Assist in ensuring adequate maintenance supplies and equipment for efficient maintenance completion.
  7. Maintain good professional relationships with regulatory and insurance agencies that pertain to lift maintenance and operations. Assist in escorting all state, insurance, and NDT inspectors to lift locations.
  8. Oversee the maintenance and safe operations of department equipment. Ensure that department team members receive and utilize training in safe work practices.
  9. Manage maintenance on assigned lifts and ensure the safe mechanical integrity of those lifts through regular inspections and follow-up.
  10. Oversee department labor, expenses, and inventory through new digital platform.
  11. Attend information sharing, goal accountability and problem-solving meetings.
  12. Promote a culture of teamwork, open communication, and sustainability.
