The primary focus of A Café Barista is to provide quality service to guests by preparing and serving coffee related beverages and assorted snack foods.

The Café Barista is a full or part-time, year round seasonal position. Responsibilities are to ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience by providing outstanding drinks and service. Café Barista's work in the front of the business taking orders, serving food and drinks, and assisting guests with all other needs. All Barista's must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Takes initiative to get any and all jobs completed accurately and proficiently.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):

  • Prepare and serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
  • Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
  • Receive, or stock supplies or retail products.
  • Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions.
  • Receive and process customer payments.
  • Serve prepared foods, such as muffins, biscotti, or donuts.
  • Stock customer service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items.
  • Take out garbage.
  • Create signs to advertise store products or events.
  • Prepare or serve menu items, such as sandwiches or salads.
  • Set up or restock product displays.

Qualifications

Café Attendants must possess ServSafe certification or acquire it upon hire.
