Overview

Sunday River is hiring a full-time, year-round Assistant Engineer to join our team. This role will assist the Engineering team with development of resort infrastructure through all phases, including conceptual planning, engineering, permitting, construction, and maintenance. 

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Resort’s responsibilities as a Dig Safe member utility, maintaining maps of underground utilities and locating these utilities when a Dig Safe locate request is received.
  2. Use CAD software to create conceptual drawings and engineering plans for Resort expansion and maintenance projects.
  3. Perform various calculations necessary for designing resort infrastructure.
  4. Assist in preparing applications for permits from government agencies such as the Town planning board and Maine DEP.
  5. Inspect projects during construction to ensure compliance with design and with local ordinances and state laws.
  6. Participate in operation and maintenance of Water/Wastewater systems.
  7. Assist other Resort departments with various tasks as needed.
  8. Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will be proficient with CAD or equivalent computer programs and have previous engineering-related experience or training. 

 

This position requires interaction with people at all levels, including guests, vendors, public officials and other Resort staff members. Strong communication and collaboration skills are needed for developing plans that meet the needs of various stakeholders, and presenting these plans to Resort management staff, guests, contractors and government officials.
