Overview

As an Assistant Manager you are responsible for aiding the store manager with overall store operations, including both day-to-day tasks and long-term goals.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager's typical job functions include:

  • Assisting Store Manager in responsibility for the store
  • Demonstrating desired behaviors for staff
  • Assisting store manager with providing a strong leadership presence and control in store, while ensuring that all customers receive good service and quality merchandise
  • Regularly communicating with Store Manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in business
  • Helping Store Manager in identifying training needs and providing ongoing training opportunities to the team as needed
  • Assisting Store Manager in delivering consistent, timely feedback and coaching
  • Ensuring company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times
  • Ensuring all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times
  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security
  • Managing and controlling shrinkage
  • Leading a team of 6-20 team members depending on day and time of year
  • Completing payroll tasks, spot inventories and daily bookkeeping
  • Being active on the sales floor selling retail products, ski/snowboard equipment, boot fitting and all other retail products while promoting our resort/outdoor lifestyle brand

Qualifications

This position may be for you if:

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have achieved a high school diploma or GED degree
  • You possess a minimum of two year hard and soft goods sales experience; two years retail management experience; ski/snowboard sales experience preferred
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • You are able to effectively lead a team
  • You are available to work nights, weekends, holidays and special events
