The Lift Maintenance Mechanic will troubleshoot, maintain and repair ski lift equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation of the areas lift system and associated equipment. The Lift Maintenance Mechanic's typical job functions include:

  • Standing for long periods of time, using ladders, working in tight areas and working at variable heights (15-40 ft above ground).
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs unassisted.
  • Preparing lifts and performing daily pre-operation checks before Lift Operations arrive. 
  • Ability to think critically and pay attention to detail.
  • Understanding maintenance recommendations of all ski lift manufactures by interpreting diagrams and manufacture manuals.
  • Understanding and following all ANSI, State, and Federal Regulations.
  • Use of considerable judgment to determine actions to be taken.
  • Willing and able to participate in all maintenance needs.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude consistently, including during high stress situations. 
  • Maintaining all aspects of zip line and sky bridge infrastructure, including installation and repair.


This position may be for you if:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of vocational education and experience.
  • You possess at least one year of experience with ski lifts.
  • You are able to work in various weather conditions.
  • You are able to crouch, sit and/or stand for long periods of time; able to climb ladders; frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • You have a Non-Destructive Testing Certification (preferred, but not required).
  • You have previous experience in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, sky forks and/ or farm equipment.
  • You have the ability to ski or snowboard.
  • You have a valid Driver’s License.
