General Responsibilities:

  • Program client needs, prepare test fit and conceptual design packages.
  • Generate schematic and fully coordinated construction documents.
  • Participate in selection of hospitality-grade furniture, appropriate systems and specifications.
  • Produce FF&E specifications for lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes.
  • Detail design elements, such as furniture and light fixtures for custom designs.

Additional Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and/or consultants; speaks clearly and persuasively, writes clearly and informatively.
  • Interact with vendors and manufacturers to follow up on products, verify pricing, order samples, etc.
  • Render floor plans and elevations for presentation.
  • Ability to 3D model to convey design to Senior Designer and/or Client.
  • Coordinate and organize unit pricing and working budgets.
  • Review and document Construction Administration Submittals.
  • Good eye for color theory and follows trends in hospitality design and can articulate those during the design process.
  • Assist in field surveying of client spaces.
  • Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative.
  • A team player that is able to work autonomously as needed.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a desire to perform at a high level.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines.


  • 4-8 years of professional work experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a professional accredited design program is required.
  • Certificate or Registration of Interior Designer a plus. LEED AP a plus.
  • A focus on commercial interiors, hospitality projects and/or multi-family projects is preferred.
  • Experience specifying FF&E.

Software experience:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Proficiency with Google Sketch-up.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative suite of products.
