Overview

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for driving resort visits and online sales using various marketing channels and tools. The manager oversees and leads efforts on The Summit’s websites, email marketing, social media platforms, mobile app, blog, online reputation (google, yelp, tripadvisor, etc), digital signage, as well as other digital platforms and channels in the future. The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the creation and publishing of various content and marketing efforts supporting each line of business at the resort. The Digital Marketing Manager works closely with content producers and contributors, resort stakeholders, Information Technology team members, guest services, and the Marketing & Sales team to gather, prioritize, execute and track brand and revenue initiatives.

 

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the resort’s email marketing. That includes developing strategies, producing content and campaigns, programing automation, writing queries, and managing contributors.

 

This role helps manage our acquisition funnel, as well as analyzes and optimizes digital experiences. This role is accountable for key performance indicators associated with digital properties and mediums including, but not limited to; social media, email, reputation management, mobile app, and website.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for content strategy, creation and publishing.
  • Maintains consistent on-brand tone and messages across all communication mediums.
  • Works with various resort team members to publish resort updates and information that support guest needs as well as internal needs.
  • Social Media Requirements:
    • Develop a social calendar in collaboration with marketing team.
    • Coordinate and create relevant and timely content leveraging the opportunities at hand, often weather or conditions related.
    • Produce creative and engaging posts that promote The Summit experience and brand.
    • Work with various resort team members to publish resort updates and information.
  • Website Requirements:
    • Manage all aspects of The Summit’s website(s).
    • Responsible for site analytics, reporting and optimization.
    • Oversee the management of feature, content, and functionality updates and all incoming requests.
    • Works with marketing team as well as several resort stakeholders to publish content and updates that support resort brand and revenue initiatives, drive sales, and the delivery of timely resort status and conditions.
  • Email Marketing Requirements:
    • Responsible for creating and managing email campaigns, content, segmentation/targeting strategy, and tracking.
    • Works with various resort teams to create emails that support business goals of key departments.
    • Responsible for best practices to create effective emails, be guest focused, and to protect our resort.
    • Assists in the ongoing development of email capture strategies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading project teams and managing direct reports.
  • Must have a good understanding of email marketing strategies and experience in all aspects of an email marketing including, but not limited to; building queries or segments to target, building/writing email content, A/B testing, and tracking.
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision and act as a resourceful problem solver, creative thinker and self-starter.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and handle many projects at once with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Must have a strong commitment to guest and employee satisfaction, as well as safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, act quickly on opportunities, handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Must have passion for outdoor sports, as well as have at least an intermediate skiing/snowboarding ability, advanced strongly preferred
  • Must display excellent communication skills, have the ability to communicate clearly and relate effectively with snow sports enthusiasts.
  • Display strong team play and interpersonal skills in order to be effective with significant interactions at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business related field.  Minimum of 4-5 years progressive experience in marketing required, with a focus on content generation, social media, email marketing or website administration. Experience in hospitality, travel or experiential brand strongly preferred.
