Sugarloaf is seeking candidates for a Leisure Service Representative working in our Saeles Office with the Leisure Service Manager on the detailing of groups, events, weddings and conferences sold by the sales team. Lodging, Activities, Transportation, Food & Beverage needs are coordinated with organizers and internal departments. The Leisure Service Representative is responsible for organizing and servicing trip details for groups that are staying in Sugarloaf lodging accommodations; from trip booking through departure and working with on-mountain departments to coordinate all aspects of group trips.
This position is responsible for all communication between internal departments along with coordinating all billing with the group organizers and ensuring all revenues are driven through the correct departments points of sales for accurate reporting.
Sugarloaf is seeking a full-time, year-round Leisure Group Sales Manager to join our team This position is responsible for soliciting and servicing business for Maine's premier ski & golf resort. This is an outside sales position focused on developing new business and ensuring the return visitation of clients. Sales revenue is generated by group guest room and activity sales with a focus on high level customer service. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the ski and golf industry and be enthusiastic about outdoor activities. This position requires good communication and attention to details to maintain synergies between all departments at the resort.
Sugarloaf is seeking a full-time, year-round Events Manager. This person will plan, organize, and execute winter and summer events at the resort. The Events Manager is the authority on what is happening on the mountain, managing a wide range of events and activations at Maine’s second largest ski resort. The position requires a flexible work schedule - early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and work weeks of 50+ hours are common during the winter season.
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Developing and executing task timelines for each event
- Envisioning, planning, and executing events under approved budget parameters
- Identifying and establishing key contacts within the events/entertainment industry
- Working collaboratively with third parties
- Recruiting and managing volunteer and paid staff for events
- Booking musical talent for various events including Reggae Fest, College Week, and the Widowmaker music series
- Ensuring superior communication about events to our guests and staff
- Attending appropriate trainings and meetings
- Implementing partnership marketing obligations
The ideal candidate will be energetic, creative, extremely organized, reliable, and self-motivated, and will have great interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and will carry him or herself with contagious enthusiasm. Prior event planning and/or concert booking experience is preferrable, but not required for the right candidate. Computer skills with standard Windows applications are required, and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications is a plus but not required. Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation/Carrabassett Valley Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. Our Police Officers patrol a rural area which also includes the Sugarloaf Ski Resort which is known as the “largest ski resort, east of the Rockies”. Duties include patrol, traffic enforcement, motor vehicle crash investigations and criminal investigations as well as responding to alarms and overall security for Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Resort. This is a small resort town, which can swell to roughly 10,000 people in the winter with numerous bars and music venues.
Applicants must be a high school graduate and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving history and no criminal record. Individuals with military experience, an Associates Degree or greater, or certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification are encouraged to forward a resume.

Sugarloaf Sports and Fitness Center is hiring for a front desk attendant that enjoys working in a customer service and fitness environment. The Sports & Fitness Center offers our guests a fitness, pool as well as a cafe environment. The attendant makes people feel welcome with a smile, eye contact, introduction and friendly greeting. The attendant is a team player, looks the part, and takes pride in who they are and what they do. Responsibilities include checking in guests, distributing locker keys, towels, selling day passes and memberships, booking appointments for racquetball and massages as well as selling merchandise, gift cards and gift certificates. Preparation and serving of food and alcohol along with the policing of alcohol consumption and valid entry to the club is required. The front desk attendant will answer phones and collect various forms of payment including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and travelers’ checks, fold and stock towels, maintain hot tubs, mop floors, empty towel bins, and shovel walkways. This position requires the individual to work some days, some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Performing basic maintenance on plumbing, electrical, appliances, furniture, and general building maintenance trades. Responsible areas include the Base Lodge, Competition Center, Bullwinkles, village areas and Sugarloaf Mountain. You need to have varied maintenance capabilities, be able to work independently on job duties. Troubleshooting and the ability to safely perform minor work on appliances, plumbing & heating, electrical, general furnishings, spas, internal and external structures. A positive attitude towards guests and others is necessary for this resort position. Use of personal vehicle required as well as personal hand tools. Sugarloaf is seeking candidates for the position of Information Systems Coordinator (ISC). This job requires extensive, daily contact with both Sugarloaf guests and Sugarloaf employees. Customer service is a key element of the job and adherence to Sugarloaf's service values is mandatory. For the most part, Sugarloaf employees are the IT department’s customers.
- Provide desktop PC support to employees and customers.
- Maintain voice, data, and TV cabling infrastructure (indoor and outdoor). Repair or replace damaged wiring. Install and terminate wiring to support renovation, relocation, or new construction.
- Provide direct guest support for guest room issues, including but not limited to: TV, phone and internet.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace various systems, including but not limited to: end user computers, phones, TVs and printers. Use vendor support to resolve difficult problems.
- Provide users with basic instruction.
- Document solutions for both end user education and technical reference purposes.
- Perform and maintain an inventory of tools and equipment. Maintain stocks of consumable supplies.
- Additional tasks will be assigned by supervisor.
- Use of personal vehicle for travel within the Sugarloaf area is required. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Weekend work schedule is required. Evening work may be needed during scheduled maintenance or in case of emergency.

Sugarloaf is looking for a fun energetic team player to fill the role of Banquet Captain for the summer conference/events season. This position is directly responsible for the performance of all hourly banquet food and beverage servers and bartenders. Our ideal candidate is someone who displays leadership in guest hospitality, while creating a positive atmosphere for our guests and team members. The Banquet Captain must have an eye for detail to ensure the smooth execution of all functions.
We are looking for a hands-on chef who is creative and proficient in all aspects of food preparation. The chef will recruit, train and manage a staff of 10 people or more, establish work schedules and assess staffs’ performance, supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities, estimate food consumption, purchase food, plan menus, standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality, establish presentation technique and quality standards, ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance, and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. The chef is responsible for providing top-quality products and service while managing within the budgeted labor, supply and cost of goods guidelines. He/She will prepare guest meals and work closely with the Resort Executive Chef and other outlets within the company and is also responsible for remedying problems or complaints from guests, performing administrative duties and attending essential meetings. The ability to present a professional manner and maintain composure during pressure situations is a must. Work shifts will vary based on business levels and necessary job tasks, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with more time being needed during periods of extremely heavy business.

Sugarloaf is seeking to hire a full time year round Lift Mechanic Technician. To join our team we are seeking detailed-orientated, physically fit candidates who are willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions, day or night. Lift mechanics install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment as well as assist lift operations with the start up and shut down of the lifts daily. They also read diagrams and manufacturers’ manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training. Candidates must be able to work at great heights.
