The Night Operations Manager assists in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel as well as developing and motivating all staff to attain proper standards of performance. The Snow Controller operates pumps and compressors in the Snowmaking Department. Must have knowledge of running pumps and compressors and be a good communicator. Be able to maximize efficiency, run necessary components according to temperature. Monitor water and air flows; turn compressors and pumps on and off accordingly. Report to the snowmaking manager and keep in contact with snowmakers about equipment running on the mountain. Need to be able to run computer program for water pumps, compressors, maintenance logs. Apply pertinent information from computer to the snowmaking operation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; operating snow making equipment on mountainous terrain in all types of weather including set up, start up, operation of and shut down of snow making equipment, checking snow gun functioning capacity and monitoring snow quality. Must be able to work flexible schedule including day and night shifts, weekends and holidays, and be able to negotiate all types of terrain while maneuvering snow making equipment. You must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. All shifts available with an anticipated start date in early November. The Ski and Snowboard School Support Team Lead is responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day operations in our Ski and Snowboard School. Team members will be responsible for the image, appearance, and functionality of indoor facilities including preparing and serving lunch service for up to 200 guests, and assistance with check-in and check-out procedures of child students. Team members will also spend time with small children performing indoor programming activities, assisting in ski school classes and helping to motivate children when necessary. The Lead Support Team Member will also provide other Support Team Members with tasks and directions to ensure a smooth operatoin.
The Sugarloaf Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School Desk Sales Associate operates as a friendly face, cashier and desk attendant in the Snowsports office. This positions main responsibility is booking guests of all ages and ski levels into an appropriate Ski or Snowboard School Lesson.
Sugarloaf Ski and Snowboard School snowmobile operators are tasked with providing exceptional guest service while transporting children in our ski and ride programs during lessons. The students in the lessons will be our youngest guests so transportation must be provided in a safe and friendly manner. Operators will help with learning terrain setup and takedown, snowmobile daily inspections, routine maintenance and occasional support for the indoor staff.
Teach children aged 2-3 how to ski and enjoy the mountain environment. It is not necessary to be an excellent skier, but a love of the sport and the desire to continually improve regardless of current ability is important. Specialists will be a part of our Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School but will focus on introducing our youngest guests to the sport of skiing, teaching primarily beginners from our Child Care Center located in Gondi Village.
Downhill Supply Company at Sugarloaf Mountain is currently seeking energetic and dependable ski/snowboard technicians for the 2017/2018 winter season. Must provide excellence to our guests in all aspects of winter equipment repair and service including: binding mounting and adjustments; equipment repair; tuning and waxing. Sugarloaf Trail Crew is currently developing new gladed skiing areas on the adjacent Burnt Mtn peak. We are also continuing to maintain our existing trail and glade infrastructure. We work closely with other mountain departments to assist them with any tree / brush removal. We often assist with erosion control and slope stabilization as well and have recently begun the process of maintaining the hiking trail on Burnt Mtn.
